About Me

Welcome to my website!

My name is Katia and I am an abstract artist from Ukraine.

In 2012 I graduated from the Academy of Decorative and Applied Arts in Kyiv and since then I have become fascinated with abstract art because it is the freedom to create a new world, full of colors of flowers and blossoms.

Since 2022 when the war started in Ukraine I have been living and working in the Netherlands.

Hope you enjoy being here, write to me if you have any questions.

When I start a new painting, I always act intuitively, creating colour composition, spots and textures.

It is important for me to be completely free and not limited to anything in the first stage, I am convinced that art is a game, which brings pleasure and at the same time a journey that leads to a certain destination.

And it is there that the more conscious construction of the composition begins, the application of paint in layers, creating the depth and richness of the surface.

Here the game turns into constant decision-making. In my works it is combined as free application of flowing paint with controlled strokes with a dense texture to achieve contrast and dynamics. In the process, the work changes many times, until there is a balance between elements, color and spots and the goal is achieved, you will feel the independent sound of the picture and the mood, which the viewer will be able to interpret for themselves.

In my works, color is an independent expression, the main violin, and composition and textures are the means to help the whole orchestra sound.
